Sharman Award - Conference Bursary

The Sharman Award was established in 2000 to assist members of more than one year standing with their professional development by offering travel, accommodation and registration assistance to attend the ASA annual conference. The aim of the award is to support those to attend the conference who would otherwise be unable to attend due to costs.

Sharman Award Logo

The Sharman Award is named in honour of the late Robert Charles (Bob) Sharman, colleague, foundation member and long serving supporter of the Society, in recognition of his significant contribution to the Australian Society of Archivists and the archival cause in Australia. An obituary commemorating his extraordinary career and commitment to both the Australian archival and library professions, detailing his life and achievements is available in Archives & Manuscripts Vol.46(3) 2018.
