We are pleased to announce that Nicole Lockwood is the 2025 recipient of the Loris Williams Memorial Fund.

Nicole is a proud Dunghutti and Gumbangerri woman and is currently working at the National Archives of Australia. She is committed to continue building her career and networks within the Australian GLAMR sector.

Nicole is most passionate about collecting, preserving and improving accessibility to national collections. She has said the Loris Williams Memorial Fund will provide essential support for her continued professional development in the archives and records management sector.

"This support would enable me to continue building a career that centres Indigenous perspectives in recordkeeping, improves access to records for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and contributes to more ethical and culturally informed archival practices." – Nicole Lockwood

The Loris Williams Memorial Fund reflects a strong commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, professionals and researchers in the archival and records management profession. It is a privilege to contribute to pathways that strengthen Indigenous participation, leadership and knowledge within the sector.

We wish Nicole all the very best with her studies.
