Submissions are now open for Archival Futures: Community, Engagement, Technology, to be held in Hobart/Nipaluna, Tasmania from 1–4 March 2027.
The Museum of Performing Arts, is the home to the State's collection of 50,000 items documenting the rich history of performing arts in WA. Also known as the 'King Collection' after the theatre's historian, Ivan King OAM, items such as photographs, press clippings, scripts, scores and other historical pieces are exhibited at His Majesty's Theatre and online via the Museum of Performing Arts website.
Because we are Archivists the tour will also include the archival collection at the King Street Arts Centre which is not usually accessed by the public.
The tour will commence at His Majesty’s Theatre Stage Door, located down His Majesty’s Laneway (off Hay Street) at 2pm sharp.
There is a limit of 16 to attend this tour - so first in, best dressed.
